Just Some of the Notebooks Within Reach
I admit it. I have a problem with notebooks. I like ruled, quadruled, blank page, Moleskine. You name it. But what I want is a unified note taking system that doesn't spread my notes across several paper notebooks. Yes, I tried using my iPad to take notes with Penultimate. Penultimate is cool but every stylus I tried was terrible. And I didn't draw that well with just a finger.
Then I discovered Evernote. Not only has Evernote been fantastic at saving and archiving all that I find interesting on the web, I can scan my paper notes into the app and categorize them into -- get this -- Notebooks. From there, they are magically uploaded to the cloud and available on my MacBook, iPad, and iPhone. You can make some or all or some of your notebooks sharable and handwritten notes get scanned for OCR, making handwritten scribble searchable.
Paper notes. Digital backup and storage. Cloud retrieval. Sharability. I think I found my groove when it comes to taking notes.
