I just finished my first and possibly last beer from Russia. Was it sweet? Like a diabetic rolled in sugar. At least it was at first. After a few drinks it started to mellow into a fairly indistinct lager. According to the label, it was the Baltika 7 Export Lager, brewed in St. Petersburg Russia. With 5.4% alcohol by volume, I am starting to wonder if Baltika is russian for malt liquor. Does this mean I just drank the Soviet version of Colt .45? Yes, but it would technically be 11.4 mm.
