Back to Back Concerts

After being chewed up and spit out of the grind that is SXSW Interactive, I made it back home for a couple of concerts. Muse played the Fort Worth Convention Center with special guest, Silversun Pickups and was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Touring with U2 obviously had an impact on Muse's stage show and art direction. If allowed only one word to describe the show, it would be: Orwellian. Or awesome. Or awesomely Orwellian.

Fast forward one night to the Dallas House of Blues to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with opening act, Band of Skulls. I had never heard of either band before but I liked what I saw. The following description I saw online does the band justice:

Drawing inspiration from the fuzz-laden rock of The Jesus and Mary Chain and The Stone Roses--to say nothing of leather jacket-wearing motorcycle gangs--the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club earned the appreciation of critics throughout the '00s. Don't be left in the dust when they hit the road.

Both bands were really cool and I saw inventiveness on the bass like I haven't seen in a long time from BRMC's bassist. House of Blues Dallas is a great venue. I can't wait to catch more shows there.
